Highlights for this week

Safe Walk to School
The City of Gonzales is once again providing traffic control during peak morning traffic hours to keep things moving along. Here are some things we learned from the pilot program at the end of the school year that we would like to bring to your attention:
 

  1. Drivers need to pay attention while waiting to enter or exit the highway (do not distract yourself with text messaging or other activities on your cell phone).
  2. Parents, do not stop in the street to drop your kids off where parking is not allowed (this is not legal, is unsafe, and causes traffic congestion).
  3. Pedestrians and school children, please take your earbuds out, follow all instructions from traffic control staff, and pay extra attention when crossing the street.
