Health & Wellness
There are a variety of health institutions keeping the Gonzales and Monterey communities healthy and active.
Clinca de Salud del Valle de Salinas
Clinica de Salud del Valle de Salinas ('Clinica') is dedicated to providing quality comprehensive health care to men, women and children with an emphasis on farm worker families and the agricultural community. Through efficient resource management and aggressive efforts to seek outside funding, Clinica is committed to maintaining financial stability so their patients and employees benefit from their success.
Gonzales Medical Center
The Gonzales Medical Center is the City's primary health facility. A designated Rural Health Facility, the medical center serves a client base that includes Gonzales residents and patients from the surrounding rural area.
The Green Valley Corporation (doing business as Barry Swenson Builder) will construct a 6,400± square foot medical office building on vacant property located east of U.S. Highway 101. The building will be leased by the Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital (SVMH). The Gonzales Medical Group has an Agreement with the SVMH to move to the new location; providing new and improved facilities and equipment and more than doubling its patient treatment space.
Salinas Valley Memorial Healthcare System
Salinas Valley Memorial is the regional center for heart, spine, joint replacement, cancer treatment and women and children’s healthcare. It is also the area’s certified hospital for stroke care. In 2013, SVMH was ranked by HealthGrades as among the Top 10% of systems in the country and ranks five stars for more than a dozen procedures.
Natividad Medical Center
Natividad Medical Center is the only teaching hospital on the Central Coast. This 172 bed acute care hospital has a nationally recognized family medicine residency program. It has a medical staff of more than 200 physicians and has several specialty clinics and outpatient primary care clinics operated by the Monterey County Health Department.
Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula ('CHOMP')

The Community Hospital covers a broad range of health issues at 15 locations that include mental health, stroke, hospice care, outpatient services and the main hospital.
