Other highways of significance include State Route 68, which links U.S. Route 101 to the cities of the Monterey Peninsula and State Highway 1 along with State Route 183, which provides access to Castroville.

The Salinas Municipal Airport is located approximately 16 miles north of Gonzales and is easily accessed via U.S. Route 101. The airport is a general aviation facility with three runways serving single and twin-engine aircraft and helicopters. The airport accommodates an increasing number of turbo-propeller and turbine-powered business jets. Jet West serves the airport as its fixed base operator. The airport has an air traffic control tower in operation 12 hours/day, 7 days/week.

The Monterey Peninsula Airport is located approximately 35 miles northwest of Gonzales and is easily accessed via U.S. Route 101 and State Route 68. The airport offers daily non-stop flights on five carriers to San Francisco, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Denver, Las Vegas and San Diego. The airport accommodates a significant number of turbo-propeller and turbine-powered business jets, which are served by two fixed base operators including Del Monte Aviation and Monterey Jet Center.

The Monterey Airbus provides a shared-ride airport shuttle service to and from San Jose International Airport or San Francisco International Airport. AMTRAK offers daily passenger rail service on the Coast Starlight Train with boarding at the Salinas Station Building.  Gonzales is transected by the Union Pacific Railway line which can be accessed by spur-lines to handle freight.

Monterey-Salinas Transit (MST) provides bus service to the greater Monterey and Salinas areas, Salinas Valley cities southward to Paso Robles, and as far north as Watsonville and San Jose.
