Our partners at Salinas Valley Recycles will be hosting a FREE Reuse, Recycle & Cleanup Day on Saturday June 11, 2022 from 8AM-2PM (or until boxes are full) at Fairview Middle School. Pick up your FREE landfill disposal voucher at the event.

COVID-19/ Vaccine Updates

• Gonzales RX Pharmacy is still accepting walk-ins for, both, COVID boosters and vaccines. Monday-Friday from:  9AM-5:15 PM and Saturdays from 9AM-12PM.
• CHWs will be conducting COVID Testing on Monday's, Wednesday’s and Friday’s from 2PM-5PM. For any additional questions , please call 831-290-0039

• Just a reminder: Every home in the U.S is eligible to order 4 free at-home COVID-19 tests. The tests are completely free, orders will usually ship between 7-12 days. 
  • To order your tests log on to:COVIDtests.gov OR by calling 1-800-232-0233 to obtain information in english and spanish. 

Distributions

•  Food
  • The Food Bank for Monterey County hosts food distributions every 3rd Thursday from 9:30AM to 10:30AM at Saint Theodore’s Church.
  • Gonzales Community Food Pantry will be hosting a food distribution at 9AM on Friday (every 3rd and 4th Friday  of each month) at the Mission Annex on 4th & Day Streets.
• Clothing
  • Gonzales Community Church Clothing Closet is open Tuesday-Thursday from 3PM to 5PM at the Mission Annex located on 4th and Day Streets.

• Gonzales Reuse, Recycle Cleanup Day: Gonzales Residents ONLY
  • FREE Recycle Cleanup Day- June 11th at the Fairview Middle School from 8AM-2PM (or until boxes are full) for Gonzales residents ONLY.
  • Items Accepted: General Garbage, Clothing Donations, Electronics, TVs & Computers, Metal & Steel Items. Mattresses & Appliances: Take directly to Johnson Canyon Landfill for FREE. Refrigerators & Freezers: Pick up your FREE landfill disposal voucher at the event. All engines and transmissions must have the pans removed and be drained of fluids. Please NO WOOD OR YARD WASTE, Tires, Large Furniture, Couches, Sofas, or Hazardous Waste (other than listed below).
• FREE Tire Recycling Program
  • Our partners at Salinas Valley Recycles will be hosting a FREE tire recycling program from April 2nd-May 31st. 
  • Gonzales residents can drop off their used tires at the Johnson Canyon Landfill.
  • Limit 9 tires per trip.
• Annual Dog license Reminder
  • Dog license renewal can be obtained at the Gonzales Police Department

• Helmet Fitting, Inspection, and Distribution
  • In collaboration with the Monterey County Health Department and the Gonzales Police Department, there will be a distribution (while supplies last) of bike helmets for Gonzales residents. 
    • Monday May 23, 2022- May 26,2022 from 5PM- 7PM.
