Building permits can be started by downloading the permit or completing it at City Hall, 147 Fourth St. Contractors generally complete the permit.

Owner-Builders attempting some work will be questioned about some types of work. Some electrical and plumbing work and major construction should be done by a licensed contractor with the correct license. Not all contractors maintain the same license.
