PRESS RELEASE 

 

Announcing Vacancy on the City of Gonzales Planning Commission 

 

The City of Gonzales City Council is inviting letters of interest from City of Gonzales residents that would be interested in serving on the City of Gonzales Planning Commission.  One (1) position is currently open. 

 

In 2022 and 2023, the Planning Commission will be working on the Vista Lucia and Puente del Monte annexation projects that will comprise approximately 1,314 acres on the east side of the town.  There are 6,200 residential units proposed, four elementary schools, one new middle school, parks, and open space.  In addition to these two major projects, the Planning Commission will consider a number of new development projects within the City of Gonzales, Gonzales Agricultural Industrial Park, and the City of Gonzales Future Growth Area.  The City of Gonzales Community Development Director is the City Staff person assigned to the Planning Commission. 

 

This is an excellent opportunity to learn the role of a Planning Commissioner, to contribute to your community and establish relationships with other community leaders. 

 

The Planning Commission meets on the second Monday of each month as 6:00 p.m.  The Per Diem is $50.00 per month.
