Announcing Vacancy on the City of Gonzales Planning Commission

The Gonzales City Council is inviting letters of interest from Gonzales residents that would be interested in serving on the Gonzales Planning Commission. Three positions are open.

In 2021 and 2022, the Planning Commission will be working on the Vista Lucia and Puente del Monte annexations that comprise approximately 1,314 acres on the east side of town. There are 6,200 residential units proposed, four elementary schools, one new middle school, parks, and open space. In addition to these two major projects, the Planning Commission considers a variety of use permits.  The Community Development Director (Matthew Sundt) is the City Staff person assigned to the Commission.

This is an excellent opportunity to learn the job of a Planning Commissioner, to contribute to your community and establish relationships with other community leaders.

The PC meets on the second Monday of each month at 6:00 p.m. in the evening.  Compensation is $50.00 per month.

If you are interested, please submit a letter to Mayor Jose Rios at the address shown below, describing your background and qualifications and your reason for applying.
