Announcing Vacancy on the City of Gonzales Planning Commission

The Gonzales City Council is inviting letters of interest from Gonzales residents that would be interested in serving on the Gonzales Planning Commission. One position is open.   

In 2021 and 2022, the Planning Commission, under the leadership of Chairperson Tim Jackson, will be working on the Vista Lucia and Puente del Monte annexations that comprise 1,314 acres. There are 6,200 residential units proposed along with four elementary schools and one new middle school, parks, and open space. In addition to these two major projects, the Planning Commission considers a variety of use permits.  The Community Development Director (Matthew Sundt) is the City Staff person assigned to the Commission.

This is an excellent opportunity to learn the job of a Planning Commissioner, to contribute to your community and establish relationships with other community leaders.

The PC meets on the second Monday of each month at 6:00 p.m. in the evening.  Compensation is $50.00 per month.
